Yes, it's okay, but I've heard that you should wear a lower absorption (just a normal tampon instead of a super one) if you're going to be wearing it for more than a few hours.

Sure it's o.k. but to be on the safe side, I'd wear a pad too, just in case of an over flow and maybe something like padding under you. I bought one from the pharmacy, plastic on one side and vinyl on the other side. Saves on linen.
Best of Luck,
Summer

I always did but then the materials they started using in conjunction with a moist environment caused Toxic Shock Syndrome, potentially fatal. I knew a young woman who developed TSS and they put her in a coma for 10 days and did not know if she would make it.
I think they have changed the material in tampons so it is probably ok, but I would ask your dr. first.

I think it's okay, as long as you don't keep it in for longer than 8 hours. But be careful, try not to make a habbit of this. Toxic Shock does not happen over night. It could take a very long time before it comes.

I wear them while sleeping all the time. Hell I've worn tampons for a good 16 hours and not gotten toxic shock. But be careful, it all depends on how heavy your period is.

There's no higher risk while sleeping than awake, really. As long as it's always less than 8 hours, you're cool. Though I'd never do it because I'm so paranoid... lol.

Yeah, I wear one all the time when I am on my period. Just don't forget to change it once you get up in the morning or that can lead to some problems.

I've never heard of anything saying not to sleep in them, but you have to be aware that it carries risks like TSS (toxic shock) and infections. Essentially you'd be creating a breeding ground for infection.
