I remember being 5/6 yrs old and wanting to help people, I also thought that I would have magic powers when I became a grown up, and turn bad people into frogs and spiders. I imagined myself wearing highheeled shoes and being the prettiest lady in town!! I am now a nurse and have 25 pairs of high heeled shoes (not sure if I am the prettiest lady in town though) and I am still waiting for my magic powers to appear!!! What about you?

As I was about to leave school, I was asked this, and I didn't have a clue. So I did a 'vocational guidance test' of a voluminous amount of multiple choice questions. The Guidance officer, after having carefully documented my answers, beamed at me and said "Well, young Mr. Day, I'm happy to tell you that you can be anything you want to be." Which told me bloody nothing, and frustrated the hell out of me!

huh? like do I remember what kind of person I wanted to be when I grew up...(asking myself when I was young?) hmmm...I don't remember giving it much thought to be honest. I think I was just thinking of the present and maybe while finishing high school I was just thinking of the immediate future like college. Never really remember thinking...I want to be a____________ person when I grow up...maybe I want to be a writer or a psychotherapist when I grow up but not like saying I want to be an amiable, honest, trustworthy, respectable, amazing woman when I grew up I think maybe that was just kinda something everyone hopes for but doesn't put much thought into it when they are young ya know...what do you think?

I wanted to be a singer!!
Oh thank god that didn't happen.

But the kind of person I wanted to be was; to live in the country on my own, growing my own veg, have my own animals (mini farm) and living a recluse lifestyle.

Boy how far from that could I get today.

I wanted to live in a big city and be a career woman. No kids, no husband.... just me, my career, and fun. Of course it didn't happen that way, AND I AM THANKFUL EVERY DAY. (Although, I would still love to live in a big city, but with my family)
