what is external RAm?

how does it look? Tha guy at office depot where i bought my laptop said that i could get about 300 gb external RAM for about $100.
Is this true?
Why is it so cheap?
Please explain.

This is only true if your talking about harddrive space in measurement of ram. Ram normally refers to that of memmory you rdesktop,latop,tower use to run programs with. 300Gigabyte normally is the size of and external hard drive which is used to store your software and personal data on other than the main built in hard drive on the laptop.

Its a external HD and you connect it wih USB.
