She did not become prominent until after her husband's death. We cannot site one single thing that she did that was important, but she became an important spokesperson for civil rights and nonviolence after Martin's death.
Probably her most important function was setting up and organizing the Martin Luther King Center for Nonviolence in Atlanta.

She supported and worked with her husband (Dr. Martin Luther King) until he was murdered. She then took up his cause on her own.

she hepled her husband with the civil rights movement. after he was asassinated, she took up the rights movement on her own
