I have answered this question before ...
and I will tell you the same thing ... My 14 yr old son taught me, it is pretty easy ... but first, a question for you ...
do you want to use your own image for the background?
If yes, you must first open an account on an image hosting site like:
www.photobucket.com
www.imageshack.com
at these sites, you will upload your images.
This will give you an HTML source for the image.
You will need an HTML to be able to show your background.
Next you got to one of many sites to customize your MySpace such as:
www.Skem9.com
www.coshed.com
www.mygen.com
(MyGen has preset backgrounds you can choose from)

All of these sites give simple step by step directions for setting up your MySpace.
There are other sites you could use, BUT they often include embedded codes that will bring up annoying 'pop up' ads to serve their site.
Hope this helps!

search 4 myspace layout sites on Google, then choose a site with a layout that u like. There, they'll give u an HTML or DHtml code for the layout / background. It's very long. Copy the code. On your profile, click "edit profile" then paste the code on your "about me" box or whatever box you'd like to paste it in. I hope thet helped you in some way.
