I have called Netgear at least 10 times and they tell me McAfee is blocking access to the internet. I checked on line w/McAfee and the page said Windows Vista was not compatible with McAfee. Should I uninstall McAfee? Then what do I do for security?

uninstall Mcafee and see if wireless works. McAfee is not Vista ready so you should try another virus software. Go to www.avast.com and download the home version, which is Vista ready.

McAfee is not the only virus protection on earth. There are many many others.

I'm surprised; however, that McAfee is saying that it is not compatible with Vista. I'm sure they have a version that works with it. Did you download the wrong version?

Your ISP probably provides free anti-virus software to its customers. I would suggest checking with them to see what they offer.

As far as the netgear equipment, I suggest that you go to the Netgear site and make sure that you have the latest firmware version for that piece of equipment.

Good luck,
