I know eating eat really spicy food right before bed or if the room is too warm while sleeping it makes for some really strange dreams. Most people I know have this happen to them.

If I'm worrying about something right before I go to sleep, that might affect me. Or if I'm watching TV, some of what I watched might find their way into my dreams. I've actually dreamed entire episodes, casting myself in one role or another. Usually eating doesn't affect me at all, I've dreamed about eating but it usually has nothing to do with what I've eaten during the day.
