I'm looking into some flowers to place in some planters around several large palm trees near our pool. I've found some pretty Magenta Verbena flowers and I need to know if they attract bees. Also, do they require frequent watering?

If anyone has any other suggestions for a pretty ground cover/flowering plant that doesn't attract bees and doesn't require much water (don't want to over water the palms!), please let me know

Thanks!

EDIT: Tubular flowers (ex. Petunias) don't attract bees.

Any flower that blossoms attracts bees. Bees don't bother anyone. Why are you so concerned?

The colorful verbena does not usually attract bees but will appeal to butterflies/ Like any annual you will need to water every day or mulch well with grass clippings that are damp/

You'll really have to go with a groundcover that has berries instead of flowers, if you want to avoid bees. I don't know where #1 got their info, but any plant that has flowers has bees.

Bees are cool. You just have to keep your flip flops on. I reach right through a bunch of flying bees sometimes to turn on my outdoor spigot, and they just ignore me.

Some people are allergic to bees and are asking a legitimate question.
