The Olympic Tavern in Rockford Illinois. Everything is good but I like the Cod with home made onion rings and a couple of pints of Harp on the deck in the summertime!

U.R. Cooks Steak House. Unfortunately, it is not a national chain and the only one we had here (San Antonio,TX) closed down. You could get a 14oz filet minion, 18oz Kansis City strip, 24oz sirloin, 26oz T-bone, Kabobs, all for $13.95. This also included open salad & potato bar. The meat came in in quarter halves---never frozen, cut fresh daily in-house, mid-western corn fed. Quantity for quality, in my opinion, there was no other place that touched them. You picked your own out at the display and cooked it yourself. If you decided that you didn't want to cook it, the chef did for an additional dollar.

The Gumbo Shoppe...it's a little place so I usually just get take out. They have the best cajun food. I usually get blackened chicken with crab on top, cajun mashed potatoes, hush puppies and crawfish bisque. I eat that and then I don't eat for like two days. It's amazing.
Also, The Melting Pot (a fondue place). My favorite is a pot of cheddar cheese with horseradish and bacon bits, then a plate of assorted meats, chicken, sirloin, teryaki beef, shrimp cooked in a steaming hot broth (you cook it yourself at your table), served with dipping sauces, then for dessert, chocolate s'mores fondue with strawberries, graham crackers, marshmallows, cheesecake, cherries and fudge dipped brownies.

Outback Steak House...A salad, a loaf of fresh warm bread with this creamy, sweet, Cinnamon butter (delicious) a 12 oz steak med-well, a baked potato and some green beans...mmm!
