i am asking this because norton 360 is new and if it does not slow down your computer, i will buy it. norton antivirus slows down ur computer but does norton 360?

Anything running in the background slows down your computer, so yes.

If you read the cnet.com reviews referenced below you will come to three conclusions.
1) Norton is heavy on system resources and not that good.
2) AVG, NOD32, and Sophos are the best.
3) NOD32 uses the least system resources.
