It's listeria.
Yes, unfortantely it's found in all deli meats and soft cheeses like goats cheese and blue cheese. I just can't help myself with the soft cheeses this pregnancy.
And, it doesn't make a difference what kind of meat or cheese brand you buy. It's the same with all of them. If it makes you feel better I ate deli meats my first pregnancy and had no problems. This time its the cheeses and I've no problems either.
I think common sense things like buying from a good grocer, if your at a resteraunt make sure it's one that is reputable (so you know they didn't leave the meats/cheeses out), and your probably safest at your own home. However, I need Panera's figi apple chicken salad weekly. I don't worry since I've been going there forever and they are very clean. National chains are probably more adept to follow good standards.

All deli meat is supposed to be cooked if you are prego..I never heard about cheese. I never cooked the deli meat before eating it, but I didn't eat it alot either. Deli meat isn't really that good for you its high in fat.

Hi,
A few months ago I was curious about meningitis and I learned something from searching the web. There is actually a type of meningitis caused by lunch meat. I believe all lunch meat can have a bacteria called lysteria. I always heard one shouldn't overdo(eat ) cold cuts perhaps you can rinse the meats off and zap it in the microwave or scald it in boiling water. I really think before heat treating, rinsing sounds healthier that nuking preservative nitrates.
I wish you a healthy start for you and your baby. Oh listen to this- I've heard it is very important to have your baby breastfeed or attach to you within twenty minutes after birth so they don't feel lost. I've heard babies are searching for the chemistry they know as Mom. They identify you by smell and it turns their little world upside down causing some type of floundering experience that need not occur if you talk to the Dr. and delivery people before birth. I know they take the baby away to check the reflexes and clean it up but if I had it to do over again with my second son who was measured an weighed by an old female hospital volunteer- I would prefer to bond with him sooner. One of my kid's was breast-fed the second son bottle fed. My Mother-in -Law visited after second boy - she held him alot more than I got to at first. I really noticed a difference between his attachment to me compared to my first-born breast-fed child. I told my husband after Mom -in law left, I think my baby thought she was his Mother by the way he acted so please be aware of your connection with your baby that way you'll both get what you deserve most , each other! Good bye , Love, Genuine

Listeria is the micro organism this is probably risky in deli meats. of direction, Listeria should not be interior the beef, yet now and back it happens. Listeria and Salmonella are person-friendly micro organism that stay in places like cracks in partitions, flooring and in floor drains. All meat processing flora that produce waiting to eat products ought to objective finished product and environmental aspects to make certain that there is sufficient sanitation measures being accomplished to kill those germs. whilst right dealt with, you're able to be effective, yet you on no account understand what befell to the product until now to procure it. That being suggested, in case you incredibly need to eat those products, you're able to prepare dinner the beef to a minimum of one hundred sixty stages. by making use of the way, there is rather no longer something distinctive between hotdogs and different luncheon/deli meats, they're merely in a distinctive length and not sliced.

Yes they (all types and kinds) can carry bacteria. I've even seen the employees who cut the meat use the same cutter/slicer for different meats without cleaning it first.
It probably would be a good idea to stay away from it while pregnant.
