per month, how much money did you live on in college? what did you pay for?

When I was in college (lived on campus), I usually spent about $40-50 a week so approximately $200 a month. Granted, I only made about this much money from my on-campus job. I paid for occasional school supplies, some toiletries (when I wasn't getting a care package from mom), movie tickets, out to dinner, some groceries when I had a single.

Anywhere from $750-$1000. Lived on a combination of GI Bill and unemployment, later supplemented with a crappy part-time job when U/E benefits ran out.
Paid for tuition, books, rent, bought food, alcohol and other types of recreationals.
