my girlfriend thinks tapping is cheezy but I did it for 12 years ... isnt that rude?

The Coolest.
I wanted to tap dance but never followed it up.
I really enjoy what's known as 'gorilla tap dancing'
No tails and tux or"Me and my Shadow" playing in the back round.
Just a person sweating and tapping their hearts out!
I think they call it "Gorilla Tap" because it has none of the niceties of Hollywood tap.
The tappers aren't smiling.They are working hard.
I love it.
It like the difference between someone playing guitar with all those fantasy foot pedals ands sound affects and a person who sits on a stool with an acoustic guitar.
I'll take the fire of passion over the smoke and mirrors of gadgets and tricks every time.

I'm a girl and I tapped for eleven years, so yeah, I'd say it was pretty cool. I remember that there was always this massive shortage of guys at my studio, so any time you're a good male dancer... I'd think you could make a career out of it, hmm? If it's your passion, your girlfriend needs to learn to deal with it. I don't think it's cheezy at all--in fact, I think guys who openly state that they dance are pretty cool people.

Most people just don't get it. They think all tap dancing is broadway-ish with little skirts and cute dancing like from 42nd Street. Your friend obviously hasn't seen real tap dancing. Show her clips of tap dogs and other rhythm tap shows. Tap dancing is definitely cool, if you've really listened to it.

Don't let what other people think affect your opinion. Haha. That kind of sounds like a bad fortune in a fortune cookie. But really, just because someone thinks thats tap dancing isn't cool, doesn't mean you shouldn't think it's cool.

It's not cheesy. I've been tap dancing for 15 years, and it's so fun. You can tap dance to newer songs, like some hip hop.

I love Tap!! I teach and if anyone ever told me that it was cheezy, I would tell them that they are jealous because they don't know how to!!!

I've taking dance too and i really dont like tap, but dont let my opinion get to you. Obviously you like it or else you wouldnt have taken it for 12 years and dedicated so much time to it. Its not rude to say what you feel-given how you say it. I dont like pig feet but my dad likes it. I like dance and my brother doesnt. We respect each other and arent being rude when we give our opinions and feeling

Tap dancing is a way to really let out anger, especially if its your style to do rhythm tap. It is just amazing! keep doing it if you like to do it...no one should tell you otherwise...

I did ballet when i was younger and then quit JUST because my friends laughed at me about it. Now i'm doing lots of different types of dance, and to tell you the truth, I'd much rather of had those years of experience.
DON'T QUIT TAP DANCING!!!!!!
really, trust me on this one.
just tell ur gf that u luv 2 do it and that it's your passion. she'll be all like "oh, sorry," if you do.
Oh, yah, and i think that its VERY RUDE of her to do that.
