What I am not sure of is, if I have to go through the entire cosmetology school, or if M.A.C. has a special program in which its employees have train to work for them.

Actually you don't. MAC does hire free lance makeup artists but you have to be really good at applying makeup. They offered me a job a few years ago and all I did was walk into the store. My makeup was looking fierce that day. I didn't go for it because the hours and pay wasn't going to work for me. Go to maccosmetics.com for career opportunities or you can just to the MAC store and fill out an application. Btw, they like people that have that edgy rocker chick look...don't walk in there with your cashmere sweater and pearls like you are interviewing for a receptionist position...lol
