Its warmer when its snowing because the temperature need to go up to form any kind of precipitation, so it can reach the dew point or something. no matter what kind of weather it is the temperature need to go up to create snow, rain, sleet, hail, etc.

Some days seem colder than snow days because some days really are colder than days when it snows.

For instance, snow will often be the first event when a cold front moves in. The next day is colder, but no snow. What has happened is that there is not enough moisture still left in the air to make more snow.

Because you cover yourself too much when it's snowing. And you don't think it's going to be too cold when there's no snow...........
