It seams that we all get hung up on brand names. It all started with my FIRST time bike....... emotions run high when your young and the lack of experience makes it hard to realise that this can be a problem.
other wise I feel that you need to look at what you want from that bike. Reliability? Speed.... in other peoples mind? speed in your mind?
Take a riding course. You will live longer as statistics show that when you are new, the first time you fall off is usually the last time you are on one.
That brings us round to which one do'ya wanna fall off'a? You can fall off'em all just as easy.
One bike to the next are relatively evenly matched for the uninitiated. Racing tracks will show you where your skills really are, not the street. street crashes usually kill.
The bike that suits you best is the bike that makes you feel the most confident on. talk to a lot of together guys about this point. I love to ride and I love racing even more...... I didn't listen either but I had the best time of my life listening, finally, to the old guys........... now I'm an old guy, find the one that THE OTHER GUYS LOVE !! Pay your money and take your chances.
If you take great care of it it will be worth it in the long run no matter which one you chose. Crash it and it's worthless.

There is no pool of accurate data to definitively state that one brand is clearly better than another. Modern motorcycles are all very reliable and perform far better than bikes did even 10 years ago. It might be more accurate to simply ask: "Which motorcycle is best for me?" It also helps to know what your intended use is. Do you want a good bike for long-distance touring? Cruising? A 600cc sport bike? A bigger 1000cc sportbike? A standard for all-around riding? MX or trail riding? Certain manufacturers do have "winners" in each category.

Give it a rest will ya. This question not only has no answer but it's been asked a thousand times.
Don't you think if there were one best one everyone would buy that brand and the others would go out of business.

depends on what you plan to do with it. I love my yamaha 1100. go check em out. lots of aftermarket products you can customize it without spending a fortune. they really hug the curves good too. low maintenance and very dependable. I wouldnt trade mine for ANYTHING.

Actually they are pretty much all the same as far as quality, and handling and price go. So it's really up to you and what you prefer. I prefer Kawasaki myself although right now I own a Yamaha 1100. Harleys are OK if you want to join a clique. Otherwise they are way over priced. Have fun!...Rick
