Specifically, how might diaper liners harm a septic system?

They will not digest. They remain in the tank as solid waste. As long as they remain in the tank, there is little harm, but if one or more should manage to float out into the leach lines, there can be major trouble. The only way to clear a plugged leach field is to dig it up and replace it!

Safe bet: Don't flush diaper liners.

Plastic diaper liners??? Like with huggies??? You should be putting nothing into the septic system except toilet paper. Enzymes in the septic system break down the human waste and will work on breaking down toilet paper, putting anything else into the septic system will clog the system because the enzymes can't break it down. If that system gets clogged, you can count on some BIG $$$$$ to repair or replace the system.

I've never heard of anyone putting a diaper liner on a septic tank but I would imagine it's like chicken soup.It couldn't hurt!
I apologize.I couldn't help it.
There are warnings that should tell you if they are bio-degradable.

No, you'll be sorry they will not decompose. Can plug your leach field. Mighty expensive.
