Women need to be careful in general when traveling alone.....anywhere. Be careful not to drink too much when alone - you don't want to make yourself vulnerable and end up being a victim.
However, I highly suggest traveling alone and dining out and sure, even going to an upscale bar for the experience. I believe every woman needs to do this. Why? To declare your own comfort zone with your own company. Take in the event - enjoy your food and drink, the ambiance of the place. Don't bury your head in a book, newspaper or laptop. Sit comfortably and confidently and enjoy the experience. Not only will this show you what you are made of, but if you can do this, you can do anything. Instead of sitting at home waiting for a date or always dependent on friends - learn to LIVE LIFE on your own and on your own terms. Don't put your life or experiences (like this upscale bar or a restaurant or a trip) on hold. You can have your street smarts and your wits about you - exercise caution, safety and be wise about your surroundings and the areas you visit, but learn to enjoy peace in living your life.
Be safe. Don't drink and drive. Have fun.

I dont have a prob going into bars alone if i just want to chill and have a few glasses of wine i usually take a book then your left alone if i fancy a chat i just sit at the bar and chat to whoever is there it took me a good few visits to bars alone to feel comfy doing it but you soon realise that nobody is that bothered they are more interested in their own lives

absolutely. I love my own company. I also go to upscale restaurants alone. I fix myself up same as I would if I was on a date. I carry myself as if I am delighted to be alone, which I usually am, by choice. I am attractive, and often get hit on, but I can usually manage to avoid any issues.

Not without a weapon and a truckload of confidence. I wouldn't even trust a taxi driver if I was alone these days!

Yes I would. Get all dressed up and see if any men hit on you. Sounds like fun. But be careful. Take a cab.
