Yes, the angels "can" be carriers of a disease that slowly kills the discus but has no effect on the angels. Not all angels are carriers, however. Many angel breeding programs have eradicated that particular disease.
Many discus have been killed by well meaning aquarists who rightly believe that angels and discus would look beautiful together.
If you think you want to try it, buy your angels from a good breeder and ask first if they are carriers of the discus disease. If they assure you their fish are "clean", try out one inexpensive discus before you stock the tank with some high priced beauties like the Marlboro Reds or Blue Diamonds. It can sometimes take as long as a month before the disease presents itself in the discus.
Always better to be safe than sorry.... I have always kept them separately, myself. Good luck, whatever you try.

in case you like the fry to stay to tell the story, then eliminate the pleco. they're nocturnal and could sneak up interior the direction of the night whilst the angels are resting and devour the eggs. Discus and angels will usually lay eggs each and every 2-3 months. in many cases whilst fish are green at breeding, the 1st spawns are unsuccessful. It does no longer mean you have fish that are undesirable mum and dad, it rather is basically that they do no longer likely understand what they're doing yet. yet I wager you 2 or 3 spawns later, they are going to be the professionals at a thank you to develop their youthful.

The thing is alot fish have internal parasites or diseases, but the thing is their immune system protects them from them or they are healthy enough that they are not noticable. the thing is discus are so easy stressed that their immune system will just stop working making them vurnernable to parasites or dieases. discus produce a slime coat that protects them, but as soon as they a stress they stop producing it. So in reality angels as a species don't carry a certain discus killing disease, its sometimes fish can carry certain diseases. the best way to prevent this is to quartine new fish, or to buy from reputable dealers, who do regularly medicate their fish. good luck. Angelfish are great companions for discus

All fish have potential to carry disease, and is not a good idea to mix goldfish with other fish because of their skin coating. but I believe angels and discuc can go together
