Research the topic *very* carefully before you make a decision. As we age, our eyesight also changes, so just bc you get that surgery doesn't mean it will be clear sailing. There are also risks - so do a website search on risks of laser eye surgery. IF...you decide to do it, then make sure you do it with no other than a cornea specialist at the best medical facility you can find. Cheaper is not best when it comes to our eyes. As for me, I stick with glasses or contacts.

No. I had lasiks last year. They put numbing drops in the eye about 5 minutes before surgery. The surgical tech eye drew a dot on each of my eyes and I didnt even feel that. After surgery everything was cloudy and grayish looking (they told me would happen) and my eyes felt a little sore. Like someone had sprayed pepper in my eyes. Not enough to make me cry but just enough that my eyes felt sore and I wanted to keep them closed, which I did for the rest of the day. And how I see 20/15 (BETTER than 20/20 vision)!

Laser eye surgery isn't always a success. It could leave you blind for the rest of your life if something goes wrong. My dad says alot of people come in complaining that they see shadows and blurred vision (he's not a surgeon). Ask your doctor about all the options first. You could try corrective lenses (although they could be a bit uncomfortable)

The only way to know is to go to an ophthalmologist. There is some discomfort but it is well controlled using eye drops and sometimes pills. Here are two sites related to refractive surgery and prescriptions:
www.eyeprescription.com
www.eyesite.com

I hear that the only painful thing is the uncomfortableness of the thing they use to hold open your eyes. The actual surgery is painless and only takes a minute.

im told that it hurts slightly, but not much. and we cant tell you if you qualify for surgery. you have to go to a lazer eye surgeon and get them to look at your eyes. my friends mom had it done and she is very happy with the results, and my mom is considering getting it done. in short, i would reccommend it because you can get rid of your thick glasses
