I just read how a father raised a child to adulthood and then found out it was never his , he thought it was.Deception on the womens part. I think any woman who does that should be made to pay tthe man child support for all those 18 yrs of her deception. What do you think?

in some states its the law... if they were married and he was the only father figure the child knew.

why? because its in the best interest of the child, and thats what every law (child support laws) is based upon.

Been there and dealt with same thing, took the ex to court and sued. The court awarded me all child-support paid back. She just laughed it off for about a year so we went back to court again, this time the judge gave me back the house that i'd paid for over 18 years and that i'd bought during our marriage.
She would have been better off to pay back the child-support as it was only 65 thousand, instead she lost the house, which i immediately sold for $419,900.
I'm still laughing about this. She didn't get a penny of the proceeds from the sale.
The daughter i helped raise still calls me dad and considers i'm her dad even though she know's differently. She's in college now and i'm helping her with tuition and books.

Technically yes it was deception and it very wrong for her to do that to both of them. That child was affected too. But when a man assumes responsibility for a child after raising it for a certain period of time, then the child is his and he has to pay child support. I agree with you though, I would sue that b!tchh for all she took and then some.

It sucks because the courts will only see it as the child getting support from somewhere - doesn't matter where. It's a shame. Fathers are often unfairly treated in the justice system when it comes to child support issues, especially when there are issues of paternity.

I absolutely agree with you, the father was a decent man taking care of a child he taught it was his. He should take her to court and not only have her pay ALL the money back, but she should go to jail for LYING!!!

I could not agree more. She should not only back pay him every penny, but she should also have to pay him interest, and spend some time behind bars for fraud and teft!

Did she lie about the babie's real dad or was she promiscious and just did not know who the real dad was? What a screwed up situation THAT is!

in some states the man can take the woman to court and sue her for fraud and reclaim what he has paid. it is very difficult to prove and even harder to win

She should be prosecuted for theft by deception and make to pay for all the money he supplied.

I agree she should pay every penny back. That is wrong and why should he pay for children that are not his.
