the "main" opener works, but one remote only opens the door, & the other one does not work at all. ..new batteries make no difference...it's an older opener (10 yrs)...but ,untill now it has worked perfectly

After you take it apart and clean the push-button contacts and the battery contacts, if it still fails, it's time to replace it. They do quit working after a period of time!

If one remote opens the door, the problem is not in the main door operator. Unless it needs to be reprogrammed to recognize the signal of the second remote. If you've changed batteries or worked on trouble shooting that is possible. Can't help with that procedure. sorry

Open the cover to the wiring. Find the button that says "learn". Hold the button down until it stops flashing and it is a steady light. Point the remote towards the motor holding the button down. This should reprogram your remote.
