another thing... i hardly know any "bandwagon fans", as many pt it. everyone i know has been watching the sabres their entire lives. buffalo is a city that supports its teams, no matter what. just look at the way we support the bills. obviously no knows what buffalo fans are like, cause we are anything but bandwagon. we are just super excited at the way we have come to the top from being underdogs, yet we are still considered underdogs. idk..

I've noticed that the "I hate bandwagon Buffalo fans" bandwagon is more of a bandwagon than the Buffalo fans bandwagon. Kinda hypocritical.

I'm not a Buffalo fan but I like Buffalo...if that makes any sense. RJ is the greatest. I wish he was NJ's announcer (even tho I like Emrick a lot). Their building is loud. The city is about as hockey-crazy as any American city. I think Yahoo did a story titled "Hockey Night in America" about Buffalo's passion for hockey. That's a quite a compliment to your fans.

I'm sure there are bandwagon Buffalo fans but it's that way for all fans. And I don't even see why that such a horrible thing anyway. If you want to start watching a team when they start winning, go for it. If you want to go crazy over hockey and never educate yourself about hockey, go for it. It's entertainment, not a religion. It's supposed to be fun to watch this stuff, and people act like it's zinherently immoral to be a bandwagon fan.

That said, Buffalo fans are more loyal than most from what I can tell. They are pumped now that their team is #1 in the East. But that doesn't mean that they were sleeping through the lean years. And ever if they did, so what? Not everybody has the time and energy to devote time to a 12th place team.

If I were you, I'd just enjoy the rest of the season, hope the Sabres get home ice, enjoy the playoffs, hope they are still playing in late May/early June.

there are extremely some bandwagon followers and "%. bunnies" that only think of the Sabres are cool using fact they're triumphing, yet as somebody who has been staring on the Sabres for many of my existence and knows the recreation, I nonetheless do no longer concepts it. extra money coming in ability that the gang could have the money for to pay their suited gamers to stay placed, acquire new skills, and look after a purifier and extra comfortable area for gamers and followers interior the international. It keeps fee ticket expenditures down using fact revenue won't have the ability to help yet be made whilst each and every recreation is a sellout. the main important reason i do no longer concepts the bandwagon followers and %. bunnies is by technique of the fact they have babies who will possibly become lifetime followers and in all probability even the subsequent large gamers of the recreation. Western New Yorkers have constantly been very linked to our activities communities by thick and skinny, and if some extra people experience like driving interior the direction of the Buffalo climate to get to video games whilst there's a possibly probability our team will win, then what's so incorrect with that?

Maybe people think that we're all bandwagon jerks because of how quickly stores sell out of Sabres gear. Of course, that has nothing to do with the fact that the team logo changed this season so everyone had to buy new stuff to keep up. I'm a Western New York gal, and I agree with you, we're loyal to our teams no matter what. There have been seasons when the Sabres and the Bills have been so awful that watching games was physically painful, but we did it anyway. People always find nasty things to say when a team is doing well and their fans are behind them. They'll have their noses out of joint, and we'll have a filled to capacity HSBC Arena while they're watching their teams get beaten by the Sabres in the playoffs from home.

I think hockey is a sport where you root for one team and pretty much hate every other. It seems like a simple statement ,but the NHL is so physical when you see your favorite players get physically pounded and beat up by other teams it does not matter which teams they are you develop a hatred for them more. I am a Ranger fan and obviously i hate the Isles , Devils, Flyers and the other teams in the division, but I have a serious hatred of the Capitals and Brashear since the last game and Brashear took a run a Jagr. So I wouldn't take it personally ,it is just if you are not a Sabre's fan you will get know love from true fans of other teams.

I don't hate the Sabres. I think they earn their success this season... and this is coming from the mouth of a Devils fan.

But I guess the reason why the Sabres are not liked is because it's tough to comprehend a blue collar team like the Sabres leading the East (and nearly on the top of the NHL). I mean, the only big stars on that team are Briere, Drury, and to some extent Miller, but the rest of the team are barely known.

Once again, I'm very glad they are playing very well this season.

I'm not a Sabres fan but yes this team is playing great this season. this team never sold out till they actually started to win and that's a sign. i remember back in the day when the 49ers where the top of the NFL and everywhere you looked there was someone wearing a jacket same thing happened a few years later when the Dallas Cowboys started to win. there's always going to be bandwagon fans that don't know most of the players on the team their cheering for. allot of fans of the NHL that live in Canada get tickets in Buffalo cause it was easy to get cause they couldn't get tickets to see there Leafs play so that helped out in the attendance in Buffalo as well. yes i know there are some real Sabres fans in this room and around. you look at my Montreal Canadiens biggest arena in the NHL since the start of hockey and they sell out all the time even when the Habs were terrible for the past 15 years this are true loyal fans that are there through thick and thine. out of the Buffalo Sabres average attendance this season of 18,690 almost half are bandwagon fans.

I love the Sabres and I'm actually a SJ Sharks fan out here in the West Coast. The Sabres remind me of the Sharks. A team with good chemistry, players who play with a passion, and are young, deep, and big. Here's to a possible Buffalo vs SJ Stanley Cup!

Because they are divers and whiners.

I don't expect to get best answer, so give me all the poor raitings you want.

And bullsh!t to those who say there aren't any banwagon fans. There are for all teams, it just happens to be 8,000 more in Buffalo. Where was everyone before the middle of last season? A little ironic that the Sabres started seeing soldout crowds once they started to get on a roll after the last half of last season... (Obviously not all Sabres fans, but a good chunk of them)

I hate them mostly because until last year there was hardly a such thing as a Buffalo fan, that irks me. Also, their fans for the most part seem to be the "we are the best" type and can't take honest criticism of why they are not. They have never won anything. Bandwagon jumpers/fairweather fans-this is not all Sabre fans-just all the ones who have jumped on in the last couple of years and are all we are #1. They also don't seem to be the most knowledgeable fans in the world.
Other than that, have you ever been to Buffalo? As a city, it really does suck-I mean as far as nightlife-entertainment-cleanliness-scenery-restaurants etc. compared to other major cities, it really is one of the worst. Not meant to be an insult, just a fact.

I like them but most people hate them because everyone hates a winner. When they are underdogs and are moving up everyone loves them but once they are on top nobody likes them. It's that way with any team.
