Is this wrong or right? How do you feel? Think this attitude needs to be changed?

I think that looking down on others because of their jobs (and by this I mean legitimate jobs) is very wrong, because no job in really "unimportant", no matter how big someone's ego may be.
Examples:
Those that look down on garbage men - try living without trash pickup for a month. Haul your trash to the dump yourself during that time. See if you still think his job in unimportant.
Pretty-boy-in-that-suit - I know you sit at your desk with your manicured hands, thinking your warehouse workers are "trash". Well, get rid of that "trash" and try to run your business with nobody to ship or receive your goods for you. Still think they are so unimportant? Why not try doing something nice like offering the guys a bottle of cold water in the summer?
Try going into a mall bathroom that has not been cleaned because nobody was hired to do that job.
I know that *I* appreciate the guys that I pay to mow my lawn, I sure would not want to be doing it, especially in the heat of the summer. No, it does not hurt at all to offer them water or soda to drink.

I think this is true and some people like to deny it. There are those that think it doesnt happen because they dont do it or see other people do it but it still happens. I personally think that people should be judged by their characters instead of their job or color. However, this is real life and there are many ignorant people so there are going to judge people based on their race. I think its kinda sad how people treat blue collar workers. Sometimes people dont even make eye contact with the cashier, waiter, mechanic, etc but let it be a lawyer or doctor then everyone will be sucking up to do them. When I see people that are working in jobs but do not get paid a high salary I dont care. To me its better that they are working and being positive instead of turning to crime. Second not everyone is fortune to have the money go to college. Third their job can make them happy and could be less stressful than a professional job. As far as color goes that is just stupid. I dont know how we are in 2007 and there is still a lot of racism. For those that think a particular race is bad, dont look at the race look at the situation. You will discover its more of an economic and class factor that can be applied to all races. Some of the smartest people I know are not professionals and some of the professionals I know are ignorant. So I dont think your job makes you. Come on just look at George Bush his not the smartest guy in the world and his the president so what does that say about other professional jobs.

Correct, on the jobs. Incorrect on Color. If you are a Physician and black you still have as high a status or even higher than a whitePhysician.
On those living in slums, they are of lower IQ, and that is why they are there. No other reason. Partially true of course, but unfortunately so. So society needs to provide for them something like an animal who cannot care for themselves by giving food stamps, free rents, free medical care.

i don think its right to say youve never done it because we all stereotype to some extent its how we decide who well get along with before we meet them whether its true or not and just because you you live in the slums does not mean you have a lower IQ it could mean you screwed up in school or you could have been born into it i am from the slums i was born here im going to college and my parents are some of the smartest wisest people i know

You clearly haven't been outside the west nor even read up on it. I live near Mexico and if you think it is bad in America; you haven't seen anything yet.
I really hope that you are young because I would hate to think that you are an adult.
