Define shove.
In most religions, mine included, is some level of condemnation for not folllowing the truth. In my belief system this happens to be Jesus Christ. For us, our belief says that when one doesn't accept salvation, the punishment is pretty severe in the afterlife.
Once you get past that, the answer then is just a matter of how hard do you warn someone that is about to unknowingly walk into fire? In many cases this is done from concern rather than forcing it on someone. I consider myself to be a sinner saved by grace and don't want anyone to have to face what I myself have opted out of. But even this desire does not give me any special insight into those that try to force any religion (even my own) on someone whether through bombs, guns or shouting.
I hope this helps. Don't let a few cranks with God hammers beat you away from the truth, research the claims and think it through for yourself.
God Bless.

You cannot avoid belief systems (Christian, Muslim Atheist, Pantheist, Deist, Theist, etc). Every television show, commercial, radio broadcast, pop song, etc. are all biased toward one belief system or another. Politics is just the expression of those belief systems through laws, etc. They are always competing because logically they cannot all be true (as in true in reality). People cannot choose to be belief system neutral because that in and of itself is also a competing belief system which competes with belief systems that are exclusive. It all reall comes down to the fact the truth is exclusive by definition. No matter where you go in the world, you and a truck both cannot cross the street at the same place in time and space. Either you cross the street or the truck goes down the street, both you and the truck cannot do it at the same time. Thus two things cannot both be true at the same time. Now it is up to you to decide what you believe to be the truth (this requires hard work) and if you don't live according to truth then you will pay the consequences in reality.
Hope this helps you understand better.
Sincerely,
Mark :o)
