They are more intelligent thats why they will not play cricket.
Cricket will take more than 6hours play which is quite lenghty .
They are intrested in games which are of less than 2 hours duration.
Ok answering question it will start playing when the 20-20 match become popular in whole world and it gets the ICC node to be considered as World cup.

Cricket was not "started as a sport of the elite or aristocrats during English rule across the world" - what gave you that idea?
The earliest pictures of the game show normal men, women and children playing who were definately not aristocrats. It's true that the "elite and aristocrats" also played, but so did the working men and women. The earliest professionals were not "elite" either, they were cricket "hustlers" moving around England playing one-on-one matches and backing themselves, just like pool-hall hustlers!
Cricket was also spread throughout Europe and Americas by railway builders who introduced the game in every country where Britain helped them build their railways.

I doubt cricket will ever top baseball in the US - just as soccer has not and will not rival American football. The Americans just love their baseball and American football too much for that to happen. The financial incentives for American youths to go into league baseball are also so huge that amateur cricket, which requires similar physical abilities at the top level, could never attract them.

Lacking popular support and rich financing, cricket throughout the Americas and Europe can never develop to any great extent especially professionally. Nevertheless, many cities in these countries have their amateur cricket leagues with professional coaches/players in many cases - with the majority of players being immigrants from cricket playing nations.

America will never adapt to cricket. They always want to be the first one's and be at the top. If they do so, they will face still competition already in place and defeat is something they don't take it very positively. People do play cricket in America but I don't feel that the government will make it official game. The games they play like Baseball, american football is played within the country and except Canada no other country is part of their annual matches. I once happened to see the final match of american football. The captain of a state after winning the match made a speech that they are the world champions. I am still not able to understand how can they be world champions when no other country was playing.

i live in edmonton, canada. And here are lots of indians and pakistanis here who are crazy about cricket. So even our friends (whites, not being some kinda racist) think our sport is cool as brown people (among white kids) are considered desciplined and cool.

But coming outside my world. It may take a while when people get used to cricket in Americas.

Coming to Europe
europe already has england (who invented this game)
Irish and scottish think its a sport played by royal people(so cricket is atleast well known by these people.
France has finnally some people who play cricket there.
and cricket is growing popularity in france
Though coming to other countries in Europe, People don't even know what a cricket is!

Soccer has taken over europe and SA.
whereas Baseball, Football and hockey (ice) in NA

Though cricket is next in the list but only popular within an indian community(south asian).

And keeping in mind cricket is not in olympics too.

so it wont be soon when cricket will become a common sport in americas and Europe.

Cricket is far more common in Europe than in the Americas. Dont expect that to change any time soon either. It is not truly a rival to baseball at all, though it was practiced by more of the nobility in the old days than the commoners.
