If you're looking for a really cute and stylish swimsuit, now is the time. Most of the stores are stocked up on the latest styles...in fact, some are already starting to sell out because of the spring break customers.

If you want something really cheap and you can hold off, try waiting until July, when the swimwear stores start to discount this year's styles. By this time, most people have already boughten their bathing suits and bikinis and what is left, goes on the sales rack.

The beginning of Spring is the perfect time to start looking for sure. Don't wait til the last minute.....chances are selection will be minimal and you won't be happy with what you find. Starting as early as possible is the best - to find the style that fits you, your lifestyle and your body type.

Be thoughtful when buying your swimsuit - think about how much swimming you're actually going to be doing vs. sunning. If you are a recreational sports fantatic and do more than swimming - (surfing, jet skiing, etc.) - chances are you're going to want a suit that gives you freedom of movement, that won't move around too much on you where you'll be more obsessed with fussing over your suit covering everything vs. the functinonality of your swimsuit.

Take advantage of any early bird sales - and you can afford suits for a variety of needs and a selection of different styles you want for what you plan to use it for most. Find suits that have double stitching, and if light colored, you're going to want to make sure they are lined properly so when the suit gets wet, you're not exposing anything you don't want to.

Be very careful when looking at straps, ties and hooks - make sure they are durable, comfortable and seem like they'd hold up to just about anything. The last thing you need is a great suit, with a cheap plastic hook closure that ends up breaking, or flimsy ties that end up snapping or straps that cut into your shoulders, which not only make it uncomfortable to wear, but also will BE PAINFUL - especially if you get a sunburn.

Also - beware of swimsuits with metal accents. They may look all glittery and glamorous on the models posing by the pool - but truth be told, when the sun is out and the metal gets hot --- it can burn you or be very dangerous. Most are not made to stand up to the chemicals of a chlorinated pool, either and often discolor/tarnish.

Don't shop for a suit if you are PMSing or bloated - you'll end up depressed and unhappy with anything you try on. Concentrate on the body areas you want to camoflauge or accent.

And don't forget, once you get your swimsuit, to be sure to wash and care for it with Woolite.

Have fun shopping and don't forget to get some sunscreen SPF 30 or higher!!!

It totally depends on what you're looking for.
Price wise? They have amazing sales late Spring, but there will nottt be as great of a selection of styles & sizes at that time.
Style wise? Around late Spring, early summer, they will have all the cuuutest styles out by that time, and the prices will be tolerable.
Also, I have boughten some suits off victoriassecret.com, i used to work there and they have the GREATEST sales sometimes! my favorite suit is the original triangular bikini, its a classic and they have a great assortment of colors. i think its 19 for each piece. GREAT quality and amazing fit. good luck hun!

The best time to buy swim suits for summer is after summer -during winter. They are cheaper at that time plus you might get deals. Depending on where you go.

I would say now because when it comes closer to summer a lot of people will be buying them and there won't be many to choose from.
