8800gts = good display card for 3D games?

Question

I am going to get the 640MB version, the games I will play rae Oblivion, Guild wars and CS:S... probably some other games that will come out later on, such as assassin creed.

but I wanna know will 8800gts do a good job in those 3D games I have just mesntioned?
( I will max out the video settings and I will use a 17" LCD mon)
Will it be 100% smooth or still there will be lag?

I will use the 8800gts with 2GB of ram and a intel E6400

the 8800 gts is one step down from the gtx, and that is the best video card out there
if you have the money, the room, and the power connectors, i would recommend the gtx
you get 128 MB more memory, plus faster bus speeds (look at teh specs for them both)
and as long as your other hardware can support the games, you should be fine
