Donate him to an aquarium. In one book I saw the tank size of a Pacu listed as 1/4 acre.

That is strange that a pet or fish store won't take him for a display tank. Good for business. Have you looked in your local phone book for all of them? Sell them on the idea that he would be a great display and you are giving him away.
Local aquariums or zoo's are also a great choice. Also, an ad in the local paper iwant or green sheets advertising the size and type and FREE also catches many fishkeepers eyes. Also, try the local youth centers Senior Citizen centers, nursing homes. The best place I found is a place like Cabelas, Bass pro shops or local fishing supply stores. They tend to have tanks with various fish for people to look at.
The local humane society will also not only list your fish on their boards, but actually look for a good home free of charge.
If worse comes to worse, call PETA, (I know, but they will find a good home for your fish)

As someone said earlier that is one big fish! Try donating him to a nursing home or hospital (places like that usually like having fish or birds). You could also go to your local animal shelter and see if they can help you out. Try putting an ad in the newspaper. Hope this was of some help.
