he could as songs are a way of expressing nondescript emotions that people wouldn't normally notice. maybe its his way of communicating to that special someone whomever she or he or it may be taht he still cares for them. i think it'll most likely be a her, but you never know he can go the other way in terms of his orientation. but he could be referring to past girlfriends, friends or family or love or karma. it doesn't necessarily ahve to be a person, it could be an idea, if it's someone- it'd probably be a hooker, cuz they do go around and come around. but it may be an idea, it makes the most sense, e.g lust, passoin, guilt, etc
