Pesonaly i support a complete ban, come the draft, its as simple as saying 'i'm gay' to avoid. But realisticly, a ban is absurb. A man is a man.

Come draft time, there will be a lot of republicans suddenly turning homosexual.

But it really isn't a great thing when you are trying to do your job in the military and you have two fellas lip-locked next to you.

I think don't ask, don't tell, is a workable solution.

I still think it is best, Don't ask, Don't tell. The gay have as much right if they want too defend their country as anyone. That is what I'm talking about a Dictator telling people what they can and can not do. God made everyone equal, who are they to say what a human being can do and can't do. Did they ask Foley, Barney Franks or all the other Congressman and Senator's when they ran or you gay or a lesbian. Their is freedom to practice whatever you want or rather there was until Bush came in and started breaking all the Constitutions that are fore fathers wrote, the framers. He has no regard for our Constitutions that is why he needs to either resign or be impeached.

Pete Pace is DA MAN!!!!!

There should never be a draft again. Look at the crappy state of the Armed Forces when we had the draft. A fully volunteer army is always the way to go.

The "Don't ask, don't tell" policy prohibits anyone from having sexual bodily or romantic contact with a person of the same sex while serving in the Armed Forces of the United States.

It prohibits any homosexual or bisexual to disclose his or her sexual orientation, or from speaking about any homosexual relationships, including marriages or other familial attributes, while serving in the United States Armed Forces.

The policy also requires that as long as gay or bisexual men and women are in the military they hide their sexual orientation.

Here is the kicker. Commanders are not allowed to investigate their sexuality. However they are allowed to voice how immoral they are while serving honorably for The United States of America.

Simple solution, don't ask them to lie or hide, let them serve openly if they so choose.

Well as a military member I will say that I have worked with homosexuals. And honestly I would say that there were some that I would have preferred over their heterosexual peers to defend me. Do we judge our coworkers in the civilian community if they are gay? Do they get passed over for the job? Why is the military any different, it is a job. Sexual preference does not affect your work ethic or desire to defend our country.

Gay.Straight.Bi.Straight.Gay.Straight. I mean, come on...does it really matter?

Sexual Orientation in no way contributes to level of intelect, skill, ability, etc.....and therefore has nothing to do with job performance at any level of government, including military.

I would much rather see a strong, intelligent, hard working yet gay man serving our country than a fresh out of high shool with no real ambitions (I went to people who joined the military to get out of going to college) fighting abroad.

and a woman is a woman,,,, our nation did not ask our US soldiers before thy went to war.. what their sexual preference was,, nor their religion,,, over 3,200 have given their lives and thousands,,, their limbs and brain cells,,, their blood shed for the very Americans,, who now are saying,, no gays in the military,, no gays in the military,,,,,,,,,,

then bring them all home,,, and give them a sex test,, then send those back that weren't following Pastor Ted, President Bush's spiritual council, with over 30 million followers,,, until he was busted for a homosexual affair with a male prostitute and buying crack cocaine,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

these are the facts,,, the right wing,, born-again Christians will not admit that the leading American in Christianity,,, the President of the National Association of Evangelical Leaders,, the Reverand Ted Haggard,, was meeting with the President daily and twice on Sunday's and Wednesday's to PRAY!

There is a don't ask don't tell policy that allows them in. It is more for there own safety. But when you are living in close quarters and you have bitches fighting over each other that is where I draw the line. I knew a lot of gays, but just like smokers, the bad ones ruin for everyone.
