Iraq War - Guerrilla Warfare/Insurgency

No. I don't believe so. WWI is so much more complicated in terms of the causes and alliance systems that catapulted Western and Eastern Europe into one of the worst sustained slaughters of soldiers in history.

Iraq is really something very different. Iraq is much more like Yugoslavia in the mid'90's as the various ethnic groups began asserting themselves and killing their neighbors with whom they had lived peacefully for decades under Tito.

Iraq was held in control by Saddam and his cruel techniques most certainly worked. Now we are hoping a democratic government can restore order, but the odds are very much against it.

Not at all. WW I was fought amongst nation-states. There were front lines. They knew the enemy.

This is guerrilla warfare in Iraq.
