Ok fantasy is rather easy. If you join a public league there will be 12 teams. First off, your first round pick should always be a good all around player. Guys like Alfonso Soriano, Jose Reyes, and Carlos Beltran are always good guys to go after.

There are lots of little tips about drafting. Never take a pitcher in the first 3 or 4 rounds. Even if it is tempting dont take Johan Santana. There are plenty of good pitchers in rounds 15 and later. You could pick a 17 game winner in round 17 and there is not really much of a drop off.

Dont take guys that strike out a lot. Adam Dunn may crank 40 homers a year but he also strikes out 180+ Ks a year. Take a safer pick like a Carlos Lee.

You dont get points for defense! A lot of guys take great defensive players that are horrible on offense. IT WILL KILL YOUR TEAM! Even if a guy commits 20+ errors a year if they hit 35 homers and .310 they are a good pick.

Lastly, take the young, injury free players. It will help in the playoffs. While teams will have guys like JD Drew and Curt Schilling your whole team could be healthy.

Remember to have fun. This isnt life or death but it is nice to have a little bit of fun.
