I am throwing a baby shower for one of my good friends. I am inviting our Master's class (16 people), so there might be boys coming. Can anyone think of some good games we can play that aren't super cheesy? And some good prizes (that aren't too expensive) Thanks!

Here's one that would be good for co-ed. It's called "Word Play." You come up with a bunch of parenting adages (Because I said so, money doesn't grow on trees, etc), then turn them into acronyms (BISS, MDGOT). Then guests have to race to figure out what the acronyms stand for.

Another good co-ed. Before the party, ask each of the parents-to-be questions like "When's your birthday? Where were you born? etc. Then break the guests into two teams, pink and blue, the pink team tries to guess the correct answers for the mom, the blue team tries to guess the correct answers about the dad. Team with the most points wins.

For good prizes that aren't too expensive (which is a somewhat relative term so I don't know your exact budget) try picture frames or $5 gift cards.

At my baby shower we played the following games:

- memory: passed around a tray of baby items and then took it out of sight and you had to list as many as you could
- finish this line: give a line of a nursery rhyme and get the guests to finish the line/give the next line
- spit the dummy: (use gummy bears, much less mess) have a bucket about 1-2 mts away from the start line and get each person to fire out a gummy bear and try and get it into the bucket.

Also, the prizes at baby showers, although given to the guests, are actually for the mum to be and the winners then give them to the mum. I didn't know this at my baby shower and was wondering why everyone was giving me their prizes. My mum thought it was funny and didn't tell me until afterwards.

Goodluck!!

I just threw a baby shower for a friend of mine at work. We had a uni-sexed party as well. By far the favorite game we played was the matching the guests baby pictures to the now grown person. Lots of people were surprised who was who and it turned out to be lots of fun. The other favorite was celebrity mom's and dad's to the baby. It was quite entertaining. I'll send you the link to where I got the list of celebrity parents and their children's names. We also used clothes pins for each guest and no one was aloud to say baby throughout the entire shower. When someone did and someone heard it, they could steal the pin. Who ever had the most pins won the game at the end of the shower. Hope these help! :)

For the duration of the party everyone has to sit/stand cross-legged. Everyone gets 4 clothes-pegs stuck to them & the aim is to catch someone with their legs uncrossed. The "spotter" will get 1 of the other person's pegs & @ the end of the party, the one with the most pegs wins something small. Another game is to put about 10 "baby things" on a tray & hold it out for everyone to see for 10 seconds. Everyone gets a sheet & pen & has to try to remember everything they saw on the tray-the one with the most gets a prize. You can also have a guessing game, what the measurements of her stomach is & when she is due. Enjoy!

One of the most fun games I've ever played at a baby shower was the "baby picture guessing game". You get a baby picture of everyone... either tack them to a board at the party or make good quality color copies. Number the pictures and provide everyone with a sheet with blank numbers and a list of everyone's name. Everyone guesses who they are, and the person with the most right answers wins!

I remember one of the games at my shower being measuring my waist and having the guests write down some of their answers. If you go and search under shower games I'm sure you'll get alot of answers. Some of the prizes we used were Dunkin Donut gift cards, manicures, gas cards, walmart cards.

At my baby shower we had some fun games. Here are a few:
1. see who can drink from a baby bottle that fastest (it's not as easy as it sounds because I lost)
2. pass around jars of unmarked baby food and guess the flavor
3. think of as many songs as possible that have the word "baby" in them
4. pass around bags that have baby related objects in them that they have to guess what they are by touch: such as a bottle of baby powder, a newborn brush, etc.

Hope this helps and good luck!

I cannot think of any games, but for prizes, try the dollar store.
