When S cable is connected from my laptop(dell) to tv, I get black and white color on tv. Is there any setting to change to get color?

This usually has to do with the video output standard of your tv-out. If your tv is Set to PAL and your laptop is outputting the video signal as NTSC the television will appear in Black and White. Most newer televisions i have seen can auto detect the input signal and handle the signal accordingly but some plasma displays i have seen don't. Try looking for a setting in the tv menu where you can change the standard.

If you can't on the TV try switching it where you enabled the TV out of the laptop usually from the display properties.

Once i also had this problem but it was because my output resolution was too high. When i set it to 800x600 the tv was in colour.

Hope that helps

detect a clean S-VIDEO to Composite connector cable. it sort of feels as though has some thing to do with the conversion between the S-Video and that yellow connector. Thats what you're asserting you have surprising? It feels like there is too plenty guidance being sent on the S-Video cable for it to transform lower back to the composite connector with out any problems. i've got study that this one works from the source/Circuit city: Evolution II Platinum S-Video to Composite shielded cable (approx $30 US )
