I'm going to open a huge can of worms here but here goes. Please note I am asking for views, not expounding my own.

"Given that on the African continent, species of all sorts are being endangered and face extinction, and many of the regimes there are self serving, how do you feel about your charity donations going somewhere where elected (HA!) leaders refuse to endorse the use of condoms to halt the spread of HIV because they feel it to be a Western plot to prevent them reproducing? When Tabo Mbeke's administration in South Africa distribute condoms with instructions for their use STAPLED to the packet, is it not time to leave them to their own devices, and direct our hard-earned donations to areas where they are appreciated and will be beter spent?"

Couldn't agree more. Why should we help those who can't be bothered to help themselves. The only reason these rebel groups keep finding the money to buy arms for genocide is because our hard-earned gets siphoned off. Let's stop giving them handouts, wait until they've used all their bullets and learned to use protection and then let them come to us for assistance. We are over-riding the law of natural selection in artificially propping up these cultures who are too dumb to survive. The Masai and other native groups survive perfectly well in Africa with no money from us, so how come the rest of them have such a problem?

Most 'aid' is merely financial calculation offset against debt - how can Africa be in debt when it was utterly carved up for resources by the colonial experience, which still explains the economic landscape all over?
That debt-relief is used as a condition for the affluent countries to dictate how the poorer countries structure their economies. Maybe the richer nations are interfering not to the benefit of Africa.

The only countries that succeed from that kind of thing are countries that are not corrupt and places that are willing to educate their people. Look at how significantly AIDS declined in Uganda when they began a serious campaign to educate people about what AIDS is and how its spread? While this benefits some countries, others suffer because of apathy concerning the disease or a lack of education about it. Remember that AIDS is a fairly new manifestation, and we can't give up so early in the fight.

i've got studied the full Bible plenty and don't keep in mind it asserting something particular approximately Ancestral Worship. yet going off the assumption's of the Bible whilst it involves all religions a Christian is advised to love all people even non believers. It additionally talks countless serving in basic terms God. So once you're a Christian you mustn't additionally worship ancesters considering the fact it is a serving extra suitable than the single God. in case you prefer to nicely known the thank you to attend to different religions and ideology in a Biblical way study Acts. the better area for this sort of ingredient might in all probability be the climate the place Paul is in Ephesus. it is extremely cool stuff. you only have to take just one look at what is happening in zimbabwe right now and realise that no amount of money or financial aid will attribute in resolving that country's problems. or any african country for that matter. this is why i believe events such as live aid and live 8 are just publicity stunts- i'm sorry to be critical here but for all that amount of money raised on those occasions, the people in zimbabwe are facing a crisis of their own, as a result of robert mugabe's dictatorship. it's about time that they realise that it takes persistence, hard work, having belief in themselves and removing these dictatorships- rather than money or aid- for africa to realise its ambitions

Should Africa and the Africans have allowed europe to exploit ALL of their natural resources (even men and women) or should they have been left to their own devices?

Maybe it's not all about charity, maybe, just maybe, our "charity" could be the front for a hidden, more sinister objective, exploiting their natural resources.

Africa's Golden Age was the age of European Colonialism. Never did Africans have it so good, and at the going rate, never will they, again.

And *** TD ***, African nations should NOT have democracy. They are simply not ready for it. History has demonstrated that democracy is not a viable form of government where the people are uneducated and care more about themselves than a State with noble, codified, traditionally held ideals.

What SHOULD be a prerequisite for foreign aid is the rule of law.

They don't have democracy, and for all the ppl that make these comments, look who represents you. GWB. Everything he says you agree with? Everything he does is right and thats what you want representing you? just bc politics says one thing doesnt mean thats what the ppl want
