Your teacher is correct. If 'I' was the subject, it would be correct. And I 'is' the subject in the sentence 'I think Sara is the better singer'. Between you and me is a prepositional phrase, not a subjective clause, so it calls for the objective 'me' to complete it correctly.

PS: Blank doesn't have a 'c' in it.

I really wish people wouldn't answer questions that they don't understand. If someone really wants to know the answer, they don't need to inherit your incorrect opinion. At least if you are stating an opinion, PLEASE say it is your opinion so you don't mislead someone who really wants to know the correct answer.

Your teacher is correct. Whether you use ME or I depends on how it is used.

I is used for a subject (or nominative) usage.

ME is used for an object (or objective) usage.

Give it to me. (object of preposition.)

I gave it. (subject.)

Between you and me (object of the preposition between)

The object of a preposition is NEVER used as a subject.

Technically, it makes sense either way. But your teacher probably didn't want you to put "I" twice in one sentence, because then they would be right next to each other and could sound confusing for other people to read, including your teacher. Next time, I'd follow what your teacher said, because "me" sounds a bit better than "I," but it's your choice.

Your teacher told you to put 'me' because 'me' is correct. The word 'between' is a preposition, and the nouns it covers needs to be in the objective case. Would you say 'between us' or 'between we'? 'Between us', of course. You wouldn't say 'between I and you', would you? No, of course not: you would say 'between me and you'. All you've done is rearranged the pronouns.

'Between you and me' is correct.
'Between' is a preposition and requires the words it applies to ('you' and 'me') to be in the accusative form rather than the nominative ('you' and 'I').

i was always taught that if the compound was before the verb it was i and if it was after the verb it was me so i would say you are right. but they both sound fine, i think.
