Is Malaga a good place to study abroad in?I would be going either July or August. I want to have fun but I also want to REALLY improve my Spanish. What do you think? Any personal experiences?

No, especially in the summer, everywhere you go to have fun - the staff will be brits and speaking english, anywhere along the spanish coast and the ballerics, will be all partying during the summer and you wont learn a thing - spanish wise anyway.
go up to madrid better yet - just marry a girl that speaks spanish already -- then no problem.

Are you going for fun or to learn Spanish?
Learning is hard and usually takes time away from having fun.

If you really want to learn spanish. Surround yourself with Spanish people. Stay away from Americans, tv/music in English and Spanish people wanting to speak to you in english.

Take a dictionary. Never walk away from a conversation that you dont understand. Look it up in you dictionary. Try pre planing what you are going to say in Spanish before your conversation. And use simple hand gestures to help communicate what you are trying to say.

Good Luck to you
