Worse

I would say they are about the same intrinsically. People just trying their best to win money. Now the production values of these shows has increased enormously : Fancy lighting, drama music in the backround, attractive models, a more suspenseful setting, etc...These things tend to keep your interest.

Still, it is all about people winning prizes or money. The contestants seem to be a lot more outgoing. I have to wonder if some of them are actors. The older game shows had more ordinary people.

Definately worse. It's all about making the money. I like the older games like The Newlywed Game. That was always good for a laugh.

Worse, to me, especially the prime-time ones. So much time spent on lights, sounds, and contestant melodrama. How long of a pause is it on 1 vs. 100 before they show the answer? Ridiculous. And the contestant crap on Deal or No Deal (which doesn't qualify for the title of game show, IMHO) is so overwrought and stupid. I still love Jeopardy...Thanks, Alex, for keeping it classy!
