How can I loosen up around people and not be so tense?

and just be myself...I just want to be myself but I am afraid to if that makes any sense. Anybody have some advice? Thanks.

you only live once so just let yourself go, and don't care about other reactions and what they think. just mentally think "hey wtf lets go CRAZY and WHACKO!"

Everyone is different. That's the most important thing I will say in this answer. Keep in mind that it's almost inevitable that you will find friends, and lovers in your life. Those you meet, the ones your tense with, may clash with who you are.

Or maybe you're just not ready for those kind of social ambushes- confidence comes with age, and self-esteem. If you can wake up in the morning and grin at yourself in the mirror, you can do anything. If there was a way, I would underline that sentence.

Now that I've organised my thoughts, there are two things you can do.
1. Improve self-confidence. Maybe that's the question you should ask Yahoo! next. I'm afraid I don't have much help regarding that.
2. It's fate, for want of a better word. You're not meant to be with those people. I think you're more likely to find that you'l loosen up around people you like. You'll become more natural as they like you in return and a friendship will develop. Friendships don't happen between just anyone- it takes something special.

This depends alot on your age. As you get older and start to develop the personality that you will eventually have, you'll start to feel more at ease with yourself. Just remember that confidence comes from within...
