i recently reinstalled windows on my computer and saved all music on a usb. when i got everything back on itunes everything was fine untill I pluged in my ipod. i got an error message saying "the ipod could not be updated because required file cannot be found", and another one saying, "cannot be read from or written to". the music will play on itunes so i dont see the problem. Also i tryed to restore my ipod to factory settings but i got another message error "1418". please help me

Wow the same thing happened to me on august and it took me and my dad to fix it which was on February. My dad (i think said) that I had to update the itunes program. Like I had to get itunes 7.0. Then on my ipod it said do not disconnect. So go to itunes.com and get the latest itunes even if you have ( I had itunes 7.0 so I had to update it again) So try it out! I hoped I helped! ♥

Did you reinstall Windows XP or Vista?

Either way, I would remove the itunes software from your computer. Reboot. Then go and download a new copy of the itunes software, save it to your desktop and run it from there.
