I've a little problem with this 'surge' effort in Iraq. Everyone is scared - U.S. troops, for themselves - their families. Innocent Iraqi families, caught in the crossfire.
But if it were me. Where would I hide? I ask myself.
Or would I take up arms and defend myself and my family.
The Americans are there to help the Iraqis. But they are also killing them, on purpose or as part of the offensive.
I remember something Donald Runsfeld said early on, within a week or so after the invasion..
He said:
"Well those Iraqis, they are used to dying.".
I was nearly 19 years old at the time,
and I also remember saying to myself:
"I wonder if at some time in the future, someone from another country might say that about me and mine, and those here in this country."
And so, my fellow Americans, what would you do, if the tables were turned?

Amazing how many self-perceived patriots really can't picture the shoe being on the other foot. They squawk about the (unarmed) migrant workers from Mexico who keep their grocery bills down, while believing that the Iraqis want the Americans to stay and protect them from their fellow Arabs who are trying to kill them.
We aren't trying to protect or help Iraqis, for one thing. We went in there uninvited, for reasons known only to GW Bush.
We wouldn't leave if they asked us to, for another.

Well that depends if the occupying force is just like the one in Iraq or not.
- Are the soldiers of this force killing other Americans that are trying to kill me?
- Do I still have an independent democratic government at which any point the people could vot to have the occupiers leave, and the occupiers would cooperate and go home?
If that we're the case, I would just do everything in my power to keep my family safe.
If it were more like the ww2 German occupation of France, where the occupying soldiers would be killing the fellow Frenchmen that were trying to protect me, and I would be stuck with one foreign dictator - then, I would say "Viva la resistance!"

We've already got for foreign occupiers swarming across our borders from Mexico and the question should be, when is our government going to do something to prevent this? We're rapidly being taken over with out a shot being fired. How do you defend against an invasion such as this?

Of course I would try to orginise into small groups and cost the enemy ocupier as much time effort life and money as I could > I would attempt to wound and not kill as this drags down the enemies supplyts and so forth
I would attempt to F-uck them up as best I could with what I had to get rid of them even if I didn't think I would live to see the benifits of it

To think of the people defending me from roving gunmen who are seeking to exterminate people of my religion would be a great mistake. Understanding the difference from those helping my country and those abusing it is not always easy but knowing they give instead of take makes some things easier to figure out. Evidently the person posting this question does not understand what is happening there.

I fight back all of the time. Every time I see an illegal alien I call Immigration. I also report every employer I know who uses illegal aliens.
And they are an occupying force far larger than our troops in Iraq.
