Is there such thing as a mathematical engineer?

I was planning on obtaining a PhD in Mathematics and was wondering if there was an engineering field that might be particularlly intersting to me.

I don't know a thing about it, but I know it exists. Our professor was talking about it. He used to teach at an engineering college. (He taught at Lehigh College might be on their web page if you check it out)

I dunno, but I'm definately not one.. math is my least favorite subject. I have a knack for English :)
