Funny, because they hit their recruiting targets.
How about liberals stop undermining the war efforts so much?

The draft is an anthema to a loose united states of america. If there are any limits on state means it is going to be the draft, regardless no remember if it is for the protection stress or a countrywide provider. Say what you choose approximately national protection yet concription is a civil liberties violation because of the fact it is the state taking administration of a individual and forcing her or him to believe the foreign places coverage of modern administration. mutually as the draft must be justifiable in a countrywide emergency it is going to the exception no longer the rule of thumb. the more suitable reason for a peacetime draft is frequently social engineering. Advocates of the draft effortlessly admit this whilst they say that a draft is mandatory to instill the suited attitudes into young ones. mutually as i'm no longer denying the character-development skill of the protection stress is that a function we quite need to offer the government?

Here's how you rebuild the military:
1) Allow all the good, high-paying jobs to shift to foreign countries
2) Allow unregulated illegal immigration
3) Give gigantic tax cuts to the wealthy, while throwing the rest a few crumbs.
4) Pay lip service to education, while actually doing little to improve it.
5) Cut financial aid for higher education
Now if you add all that up, you wind up with an economy where good jobs are extremely hard to find, the lower paying jobs are all taken by illegal workers who are paid under the table, the uneducated or poorly educated masses have no prospects for a decent wage, the rich get richer and the poor get more desperate and even those who do manage to get a good education can't afford to pay for college. At that point, plenty of people will be looking to join the military.

Listen up dirtbag. I served untilI was too broken to serve any longer. . 4 MOS's (67T, 12B, 71L & 92Y) Airborne Assignments. Deployments the whole enchilada. Stop Loss isn't new. We had it in Desert Storm. If you don't like the Army then get out when you can. And the Guard and Reseves don't want you either with your whiny butt attitude.
I took a job as a contractor in Iraq after I couldn't continue in the military (Brigade S4 NCOIC, Airborne, AASLT, 2 MSM's, 6 AAM's, 9 ARCOM's and a stack of fruit salad from Desert Storm)
So now it is war and you are whining about the fact you signed a contract and didn't read the fine print. TFB!!! Your great grandfathers did three years straight in combat; heavy sustained combat in WWII and didn't have a choice about rotation or ETS; they were drafted "for the duration." That's what a draft is "for the duration." I've got friends who served in Panama, Desert Storm, Mogadishu and are on their second and third tours between Afghanistan and Iraq. They ain't complaining and neither should you.
So you need to have a steaming cup of shut the f**k up and move out. I would be surprised if you aren't in combat service support. You give all of us CSS soldiers a bad name.

I'm going to answer your question with my thoughts and ideas about Iraq. I hope none of this offends you it's not personal and thanks for your service in Iraq, for doing your job and doing it longer than you may have wanted. I presume there are many soldiers there who want to be there because they believe in their mission. I also believe there are more soldiers who want to stay there to complete the mission because they've seen a buddy or ten get blown away and they are pissed. Now it's personal. I also think there are just as many as both of those groups combined that want nothing more than to come home. People who answer that the military is volunteer have their heads buried in their butts and in my opinion don't support our troops at all. They could care less how long they have to stay. I asked a week ago, where are the troops going to come from if we are still there for two, three or four more years???? Where? Who is going to volunteer for this meat grinder in any serious numbers? Thanks again my fellow American, I wish you and yours the best for the future.

Yep, start the draft back up. Put the President's, the Cabinet's, the House and the Senate's kids, grand-kids and great grand-kids in the armed forces first (some of those people are really old). Then we'll see how long this war (or any war) lasts.

My son is a Chopper Pilot in the Army and wants to retire after 23 years. He has put his letter in no less than 4 times over the past 2 years, and they keep telling him he has to wait. Reason,,they do not have enough qualified Chopper Pilots. This sucks and could be prevented with a draft. Almost all Chopper Pilots in the Army are Warrant Officers who came up through the ranks. I say bring back the draft and do away with all the deferments.

The thing is, is that right now the war is occupying a large portion of our troops, and because many people do not support the war, people are refraining from joining. But there is always a steady flow of recruits joining, and once the war ends, more recruits will volenteer too.

Not having a bunch of endless, needless wars is a good way to get more people to join the military. I don't blame people for not wanting to join with all the stuff that's going on in the world.
