My daughter just had the same question for me. We talked about it and she narrowed it down to: The Titanic, Celine Dion and Nick Lachey are the 3 that she's contemplating right now!

The rise of Multicultural Actors in Cinema. For example, Eva Longoria (Hispanic) is a star on Desparate Housewives. 10 yrs ago she would be a maid or not on tv at all. Most hispanic women played maids, prostitutes, or ghetto uneducated women.
Asians are now on prime time dramas like CSI or ER.
The End of Illegal Use of Marijuana?
So many people are using it now for anything from arthiritus relief to the use if promoting appetites in Anorexic girls. It is used legally as medicine in Alaska and California and now Colorado. In Amsterdam you can buy it at some cafes and smoke it there. So in 10 yrs, will we be able to purchase it at the gas station? AND are all the accusations about it's harm true? Why won't the govt. allow for studies so we can test the truth? Are they afraid it might not be so bad?
The Definition of Race and Culture in Minorities in America (VERY INTERESTING! READ BELOW)
--For example, I am not caucasian. And a lot of people who hear me talk say things like "Oh, you sounded white on the phone!" And I ask, WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?? And they say "Well, you know, you have good pronunciation." And I say to them "You mean I sound educated. Not white. "
So basically, so many other minorities have lived in America since birth and went to good schools, and so the idea that races of non-caucasian decent are becoming less and less like the traditional ancestors before them who came here with accents, different cultural ideas, and different musical tastes. Yet the kids of this generation (who are minorities) are sporting American clothes, speaking good english, and YET are still asked why they do not act the way they are expected to. They even get criticized by peers who were born in thier ancestors country and get teased for not being a "true" representation of thier culture. But if they live in America, are they not Americans with every right to be American in every sense of the word? Why do they have to like Indian music if they are Indian or know how to make rice because they are Asian? What if some Asians hate it? What if some Indian kids love rock and roll and dislike Indian music? WHO CARES??Or like cheeseburgers instead? And will we someday come to a point when the lines of race are all blurred? Would this be a goid thing or a bad thing?

Write about something that you are passionate about. This could be something that fascinates you - and you'd like to know more about it. Or it could be about an aspect of a topic (e.g. horses) that you already know a lot about and can reseach further.
Regardless - choose something you WANT to learn about. Anything else is a waste of your time. Don't pick your topic because you think it is an "A" topic... if your teacher is any good, then s/he will be marking you on the content, style, grammer, etc. of your content and not on your choice of topic. And the more PASSIONATE you are about your topic, the more likely it is that you will put in the time and effort required to write an "A" report.

i'd say the easiest thing to do a report on would be american or european history. you can google so much on it and there is so much information on it. another topic you could do is shakespeare or british literature, language, or the history of the great wall of china.
there is so much information on these topics out there, good luck!

write about homosexuality and americas views on it, There's so many articles on the internet that it'll be a breeze. Or you could write a report on the history of pornography, and it's effects on society, or how women have been suppressed for centuries!
