As you can tell by the name,I love R&R,but the major influences were R&B,Blues, country as opposed to Jazz.
There are plenty of good sites giving the history of R&R,this is just one I have in favourite's, not necessarily the best:

I suppose,Gary.U.S Bonds,Freddie cannon, maybe Del Shanon are on a similar vein at Dion.

Belle and Sebastian. Really you could check out just about any of their albums, but start with "If You're Feeling Sinister" a flawless, well orchestrated album. Also some witty lyrics from vocalist/guitarist Stuart Murdoch.
check out "It Came From the Snow!" on youtube.com...thnx.

Frankie Ford "Sea Cruise"
Freddy Cannon "Tallahassee Lassie"
Huey "Piano" Smith "Don't You Just Know It?"
These are just a few of my favorites. I love the early rock 'n' roll too. That's all I listen to, other than a little bit of classic country.

Colin James. He's pretty recent but it's clear he has a passion for the same.
Colin James and the Little Big Band are back.
