Without medical insurance, we can't easily send him to the doctor for diagnosis. I've researched on the web till my fingers are tired, with not much success. How can we tell for sure if it is an umbilical hernia or not?

He says it 'sorta hurts' when we release it after pushing it in. You can definitely feel it 'click' in when you push it back. It's icky. His doc isn't in the office, and I'm not sure if we need to get a babysitter and take him to the ER somehow.

Does he have rebond pain? example. when you push on his bellybutton is the pain more intense when you release? If so you need to get him to an ER. Don't worry about the cost . Hospitals have all sorts of programs for people without insurance. I'll check back for your ans. in a bit and explain what it is I think he has. if this is sudden onset and he has a fever or nausea you need to go to the ER. It sounds Like his appendixs. Which will present with pain around the naval

This question is 6 days old I hope you went to the doctor by now if not? this is for him.. OK you want to wait a while see if it goes away. good is your wife pretty if so she shouldnt worry replacing you wont be too hard. get the point I know of some one who waited it ruptured while he was at work. I miss him. He was a good man.

it sounds like a hernia to me and if it starts to bulge it definitely is.
