What do the six colors of the Rainbow Flag used by the GLBT community stand for? (Name each color and it's meaning)

Yes, I know the original flag had eight colors including a black and white border...but I was only asking about the current six colored flag.
Thanks though, Rainbow Diva for mentioning it.. :)

The rainbow flag first flew on June 25, 1978 in the San Francisco Gay Pride Parade.
The original flag had eight stripes. In late 1978 the number was cut to seven. A year later it was cut again, to 6, where it’s remained ever since.
The flag is flown with the red stripe on top showing the natural color occurance of a rainbow.

The colors mean:

Red is for Light

Orange is for Healing

Yellow is for the Sun

Green is for Natural Serenity

Blue for Harmony

Violet is for Spirit

hot pink - sexuality
red - life
orange - healing

I like this game too :-) Definitely beats the hell out of all the rude & ignorant questions posted in this forum.

* red stands for courage;
* orange offers the vision of possibilities;
* yellow represents the challenge that GREEN has kindled;
* green indicates a challenge to co-operators to strive for growth of membership and of understanding of the aims and values of co-operation;
* sky blue suggests far horizons, the need to provide education and help less fortunate people and strive toward global unity.
* dark blue suggests pessimism: a reminder that less fortunate people have needs that may be met through the benefits of co-operation;
* violet represents warmth, beauty, and friendship.
