Well I am pregnant with twin girls and did absoultly nothing and we dont' have twins on either side of our family. We have three boys and were trying for a girl, well we got two. First of all, make sure you are finacially ready, twins is a huge deal, you don't really think it is much, till you have to start buying two bassinets, two cribs, two car seats, double stroller ect. If you still want to have twins, I know that when using fertility treatments, it ups your chances tremedously. But it also ups your chances of having triplets and more. This is very dangerous. Sometimes one baby does not grow and survive, and it can kill the other baby. Also pregnancy with multiples is high risk and much more difficult. So if you are still wanting to do it, ask your doctor about fertility treatments. That should do the trick, but then watch out for more than two. Good luck

The only way is if twins in family or IVF good luck though

ok did a little search and found this

If you are pregnant later in life you are at an increased chance of having twins. Hormones and the release of eggs is often a little off, resulting in a twin pregnancy. If you are trying to get pregnant with twins, you are more likely to do so later in life compared to when you are younger.

Your chances of having twins increase with your race, as well. African American women are known to have more twin pregnancies than any other race. This doesn’t mean that if you are African American you will have twins, it just means that you have an increased probability.

Every woman has a small chance of having twins without fertility drugs, yet genetics, age, and race are the best indicators. If you really want to become pregnant with twins many doctors believe having sex later in the ovulation cycle makes you more prone to have twins, and many link the eating of yams by a woman to increase her chance of having twins. In the end, without fertility drugs it just takes the right parents and the right egg and sperm to meet to create a twin pregnancy!

Women who drink more milk and eat more dairy products in the US have a higher incidence of fraternal twinning. This is a recent discovery that researchers believe is due to certain hormones in the dairy that overstimulate human ovaries.

You could also use clomid, which can increase the number of eggs the ovaries produce each month. I don't think any reputable doctor would prescribe it for you, though, unless you have a history of infertility.

All of these methods increase the odds of fraternal (2 egg/2 sperm) twins. I don't know any tricks for increasing the odds of identical twins.

Please remember twins have a higher rate of miscarriage, so along with the joy comes risk. Good luck!

I'm a bit angry (just a bit) by all these comment about ivf treatment being a way to gauruntee twins. It is one of the 'side effects' of having fertility treatment sometimes. But I don't think people realise just how hard it is to have just one healthy baby after fertility treatment. I certainly wouldn't consider doing it just for the very slim chance of having twins. It's not something people do for fun or out of choice usually.

Other than taking fertility drugs only mother nature can give you twins. Mother nature blessed me with identical twin girls. They are now 3 years old and they have been the hardest 3 years of my life! But I would not change them for the world.

Fertility treatment usually results in twins because it over-stimulates the ovaries.

Briefly, the answer is no. Having twins is congenital, so if there is no history of twins in either of you families, you are extremely unlikely to have twins short of resorting to IVF
