Yes you have to use your ticket for Fastpass, but no it doesn't eat it (you just slide the ticket in and it comes right back out). Here's a description on how Fastpass works, because I'm not very good at explaining it. =]

Ok you start with your ticket to get into the park. You use that same ticket to insert into a machine corresponding to a particular ride. You just insert the ticket and take it out, and it gives you a fastpass and a time to return. That fastpass ticket will tell you what time to return and when you can get another fastpass from that ride. This does not affect your ability to get fastpasses from other rides. You can load up on fastpasses and breeze through the park. One suggestion though....get pastpasses for soarin' over california, space mountain and california screamin'. As soon as disneyland has given out the pre-selected allotment of fastpasses for a particular ride, that's it for that ride. If you intend on using fastpasses, get them FIRST for the rides I suggested...those go pretty quick and by 3 or 4 PM, all fastpasses for soarin' have already been given out. Have fun!!!!

You can't use the fast past before the first time on the ticket, but one tip that they don't tell you is that you you can use it well after the last time on your fastpass. We got fast passes for Splash Mountain and our time was between 2-3pm. We had to go back to our hotel and there is no problem using it later than your time you just can't use it before the time specified.

Have a great time!!! Disneyland is awesome FUN!

Actually...it's a pretty well-kept secret that you can use your ticket to get more than one Fastpass for certain rides at certain times. It doesn't hurt to try kiosks.

When you get to the ride area, you'll see several little kiosks where you insert your park ticket. It kicks back your ticket plus a mini-ticket with an hour-long window. During the printed time, you come back & get to skip the line and basically walk onto the ride. Many of the cast members will let you go a couple of minutes earlier than your ticket, so if the ride is new or popular, go a couple minutes early or wait for the later 1/2 of the hour.

The other tip is to ask a CM (cast memeber) what the wait time is on other rides; they can often tell you right away or will sometimes call over. This can save you a long walk for a long wait.

You use your ticket at the fast pass machine and it spits out another ticket for that ride for a later time for that day which an hour window of when you can ride. You have to use to the ticket or wait for that time to expire before any other fast pass machines in the park will allow you another ticket.

You will always get your original entrance ticket back each time.

I am there alot..season passholders..was just there two days ago...heads up..Splash Mountain is closed for repairs

You just slide your ticket in the thing and then pull it back out. It doesn't eat it. But you can only get one fastpass on your ticket during that time period it says on the fastpass.

you put this ticket in this machine, and it tells you what time to come back, then when its time you go in the fastpass line and get on the ride almsot instantly, but you can only get 1 at a time, so once you have gone on that ride, you can get another fast pass
